Microsoft seems to have the most promising option in succeeding in getting their virtual realty product to market. While the first demonstration back in January was mind-blowing, the fact that this product is starting to look more and more real is what’s really exciting about this demo from today at Build 2015 developer conference.
Microsoft HoloLens is the first fully untethered, see-through holographic computer. It enables high-definition holograms to come to life in your world, seamlessly integrating with your physical places, spaces, and things. Microsoft wants us to imagine a world without screens, where information merely floats in front of you. Microsoft is calling this experience “mixed reality.”
The glasses have sensors and there is a computer inside that is more powerful than a standard labtop. When you look through the HoloLens, the projected images are like looking at a 20 in screen. HoloLens will work with Windows 10 and apps. The possibilities are truly limitless and as the Hololens becomes smaller and small over the years it will become as common as the iPhone.
When will the HoloLens be available? Although no exact date has been released, the HoloLens is expected to come out shortly after Window 10, so we could be looking as early as summer.
