After eighteen whole years, DBZ Dragon Ball Z is returning to television, but don’t call it a comeback! Dragon Ball Z’s return to television comes with its creator Akira Toriyama. In fact, the series which is slated to begin in Japan in the the summer, will be entitled Dragon Ball Super. The series is set to begin two years subsequent to the defeat of Majin Buu.
We can thank this development to the success of 2013’s Battle of Gods and Dragon Ball Z: Revival of F, which was released in Japan less than 2 weeks ago (April 18th, 2015).
This is the first time since Dragon Ball GT, which aired from 1996 to 1997 that there has been a Dragon Ball show on television.
The series will be released on Fuji TV where it is slated to play every Sunday at 9am beginning in July. Osamu Nozaki, Fuji Television Producer has been quoted in saying that he’s read the plot and that an enemy even stronger than Majin Buu may appear.
