With over 3 Million views on YouTube, the Official Batman: Arkham Knight Trailer entitled “Gotham is Mine”, plays like a movie and I can only imagine how the gameplay will be… In the conclusion to the Arkham Trilogy (Arkham Asylum, Arkham City, & Arkham Knight), Scarecrow who single-handedly stole the Arkham Asylum blueprints and security access so Joker could take it over is now the main baddy. In Arkham Knight, Scarecrow unites the Rogues Gallery to pit the worst of the worst against Batman.
But before we get to the video, let’s talk SCARECROW for a minute…
Who Is That Masked Man
Am I the only one who thinks he’s the BEST version yet??? But that’s Rocksteady for ya – They never recycle! Aside from looks though, what are the chances that behind the evil looking mask hides the king of comic book criminals himself? I mean scarecrow is a C level criminal, a messenger or right-hand man at best, but not a mastermind, come on! Let’s face facts, anyone of Batman’s A list criminals could be hiding behind there, the question we all have is: Is Joker Really Dead? Did Joker Really Die In Arkham City? Not if Harley Quinn being in the game has anything to say about it. I believe there’s a set place for everyone and Harley Quinn has always been at Joker’s side. We’ll have to see though, won’t we?
Who else is stoked about the “M” rating on Arkham Knight? I mean, it’s the first game in the series to be given the big M. Another BIG one is the Next-Gen Graphics; detail is like watching a movie. As I said before, I can’t imagine the gameplay.
Official Batman: Arkham Knight Trailer entitled “Gotham is Mine”
In her former life, Dr. Harleen Quinzel was a Psychiatrist at Arkham Asylum, who when treating The Joker fell in love and became Harley Quinn to help break him out. Most of the time we’ve seen Quinn at Joker’s side, but as the comics have shown us in the past, Harley has been strong on her own as well with the likes of her friends such as Poison Ivy… What are her special abilities other than finding love in all the wrong places? Due to chemicals she has created and taken, ger strength and agility are off the charts, which makes her a worthy opponent!
Unlike Scarecrow who causes Hallucinations with the chemicals he creates and sprays on his victims, Pamela Isley AKA Poison Ivy is a Super Villain who has the ability to control plants. In her past life, Isley was a Botanist who took Tree Hugging to a whole new sadistic level after turning into Poison Ivy. Seeing that she has spent most of her life at Arekham Asylum, there’s no telling how far her lashing will go with humanity let alone Batman.
I’ll test your Geekiness here with this one… Who can recall the 10th Dr. Who? If you said DAVID TENNANT, then I welcome you my fellow geek to the Inner Sanctum! Who can realistically look at this photo and NOT see a strung out Dr. Who with a Riddler costume? Well, considering the fact that he’s been kept at the same asylum where several staff members like Dr. Harleen Quinzel (AKA Harley Quinn) have become mentally ill as well, I’d say this is probably the most realistic look I’ve seen.
Last but not least criminal in the Arkham Knight Trailer, we have the one and only (or is it the two in one) Two-Face! Unlike in Christopher Nolan’s Epic Dark Knight, where District Attorney Harvey Dent is blown up by the (BEST ALL-TIME Movie) Joker, Two-Face is actually burned by mobster Sal Maroni in the comics (Detective Comics #66 ~ 1942). What makes this character so interesting is that every decision he makes is based on the flip of his coin. To him, wrong and right is immaterial – it’s all about chance. Click (coin flipping in the air) what lands nobody knows. I for one would like to see both sides of that coin.
What’s really cool about this particular game in the series is that you can switch between Batman and his crew of two:
