Why do we want to buy every comic book issue of every series ever made is a question I’ve been asking since I was a kid in New Jersey who didn’t have a pot to piss in or a window to throw it out of…
One of my favorite uber-comic book writers (Jonathan Hickman) confirmed this sentiment on twitter a couple days ago with saying:
Maybe it wasn’t having a pot to piss in, a window to throw it out of or living in Elizabeth, New Jersey that gave me the good sense to be realistic about things like buying only the comic book series I liked rather than donating a kidney or nut to buy them all!
This is what my boy Jonathan is saying in his tweet… Why would you buy everything, when you can pick and choose your favorite and go with that. What my friends and I did was pick & choose a series, read them and pass around. This was the perfect arrangement!
What I don’t like or appreciate is when comic book publishers like Marvel begin putting out oodles & oodles of issues and series simultaneously, leaving you in debt. This sucks!
